Hydroplaned successfully into my last minute booked tent site in Oklahoma’s Lake Eufaula State Park late last night.  Inadequacies ofmy tent packing strategies in the face of the stormy weather had me sleeping in the car. Not too bad, just couldn’t stretch my legs out.

I have risen, brewed and consumed 1 liter of coffee, packed the tarp up for later drying and further water proofing, coiled all my cordage into my signature skeins, put everything back in it’s right place, and already headed out again.

I am once again on the road and paying not too much mind to destination. Any road safe to go fast on goes somewhere. Burnt through the first tank of gas and we’re filled back up, once again only starting to consider where I am headed when past half a tank.

Car isn’t happy at idle when cold,, but never was, and shapes up after a drive. Hopefully humidity is a major and transitory factor. No engine codes on the reader so the engine says it’s fine.

Got a mild brake flutter that could become a problem if I encountered another headlights deer, but can grab pads at the next town then see if it needs more love.

Thanks everybody for your contributions! It relieves much anxiety to know that unexpected/stupid contingencies such as brake pads are not gonna a problem, and I can stop to eat something occasionally that is not rice, beans, or sweet potatoes.

My tendency is to shy away from others’ generosity for whatever reasons, but I have made a point to include, in each of these benedictions, a clear supplication for money. The church does it all the time, and god ain’t gonna run out of money.
